Green IT: Mercyhurst College Online Directory

Mercyhurst’s commitment to environmental sustainability now extends to the employee directory. As of Fall 2009 there will no longer be a printed directory distributed to all employees. The online directory will be enhanced to contain more information and will be updated from Datatel daily. By taking this step we will not only conserve paper and reduce print costs, but continue to make Mercyhurst more environmentally responsible.
The move from the printed directory to the online directory will accomplish a number of goals:

• IMPROVE CUSTOMER SERVICE -- Provide more accurate information more quickly
• SAVE MONEY --Eliminate printing/copying costs for 700 44-page directories
• CONSERVE RESOURCES -- Eliminate printing/copying costs for 700 6-page quick guides
